First Place: Gillian Baresich, TMS Architects
Jury Comments: The judges thought the entry was nicely presented, easily understood, and very concise. The development harkens back to the days of a local community with a park center and outbuildings that reflect a true understanding of the site and the area. It encompasses pavilions that are appropriate in scale and proportions to the existing buildings, as well as development that engages the users in new ways to enjoy the park.
The main pavilion was designed so that the building form does not appear large yet still contains many large spaces, which created very unique but usable spaces on the interior.
The addition of a sculpture garden in the historic foundation uses the program requirement but in a way to experience it as an enclosure of the garden…a true jewel on the landscape.

Second Place: Timothy Giguere, TMS Architects
Jury Comments: The jury commended this entry for its very strong visual presentation with clever use of supporting images. This is a comfortable and inviting building likely to be accepted by the community. In addition, it is reflective of the region’s shingle style architecture. It presents a comprehensive facilities design.

Third Place: Adam Holmes, PDT Architects
Jury Comments: The jury was impressed with the atmosphere and potential for discovery this submission evoked. The designer paid homage to the history of the site, referencing the WWII bunkers while creating a clear focal point for navigating the park. The night renderings helped explain the contrast of public/private, outside/in from the front and back of the building. A clear entry point in an otherwise blank façade surprises the visitor by opening up to park views and access once inside.
